Title: Synchrotron radiation studies of ZnO (doped with Mg) nanowires

Abstract:
Photoemission experiments were performed in a UHV chamber with base pressure of 6×10 -11 mbar at the SINS beamline of the Singapore Synchrotron Light Source (SSLS) at National University of Singapore. Photoemission spectra were measured by a hemispherical electron energy analyzer (EA 125, Omicron NanoTechnology GmbH.). In photoemission experiments, p -polarized light was used. The photon energy resolution E/?E is set at about 1000.
XPS measurements were performed on Mg-doped ZnO nanowires grown by thermally oxidizing Zn and Mg powders. The Mg doping was confirmed with XPS. AFM and MFM imaging were also done on magnetoresisitive colossal La 0.67 Sr 0.33 MnO 3 (LSMO) thin films. AFM shows the two-dimension (2D) ordered arrays of nano-constrictions on the surface of the film and MFM is used to obtain images of the domain structure. These and other preliminary results will be presented and discussed.
