Why Do I Study Physics? by Xiangjun Shi

Physics is not an easy subject. At times it can get fiercely mathematical and abstract. As we trudge through ever more difficult concepts in our study of physics, it is easy for us to lose sight of the initial passion and motivation that led us to embark on this journey.

Buried under the pressure and demands of school, you may start to doubt:

"What was the point of studying physics again?"

At once simple yet captivating, this award-winning video explores the animator's personal experiences with physics in an entertaining and inspirational manner. It seeks to remind us of the beauty and elegance that lie at the heart of physics, beneath all the mathematical and obtuse complexities.

The Video of the Week is a newly introduced feature. Each week, we will highlight a new physics-related video. The selected videos will cover a wide variety of issues, ranging from academic to pedagogical or even introspective in nature. Through these videos, we hope to inspire students, broaden the horizons of their physics knowledge and stimulate thinking and reflection. Stay tuned for more exciting videos in the coming weeks!
