7th APhO Asian Physics Olympiad, Kazakhstan 2006 We would like to thank Assoc. Professor Paul Lee (NIE) and Mrs. Fabiola Soong (ACJC) who accompanied the students to Kazakhstan. Congratulations to: Low Guang Hao, Hwa Chong Institution, Silver 6th Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) in Indonesia, 24 April-2 May 2005 The 6th Asian Physics Olympiad was held in Pekan Baru, Indonesia, from 24 April to 2 May 2005. Led by Dr. Rawat Rajdeep Singh and Assistant Prof. Kwek Leong Chuan from NIE, the team hauled in a total of 1 silver, 3 bronze medals, and 3 Honourable Mentions.
4th Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) Singapore did not participate that year (SARS outbreak). 3rd Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) in Singapore, 6-14 May 2002 The 3rd Asian Physics Olympiad was held in Singapore and was hosted jointly by the NTU, NUS, NIE and MOE. This year, 15 countries participated in the competition. The opening ceremony was officiated by the President of Singapore on 6 May 2002 and the competition ended on the 14 th May 2002.
2nd Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) in Taiwan, 23 rd April 2001 Singapore participated in the APhO for the second time. The event was held in Taiwan from 23 rd to 30 th April 2001. Singapore delegation was led by Asst. Prof. Paul Lim Hock Siah (NUS) and Mr Yeow Kok Han from TPJC. In the 2nd APhO, our students performed creditably, achieving 1 Bronze and 4 Honourable Mentions. 1st Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO), Indonesia Singapore has been participating in the annual IPhO since 1989 and this year participated in the APhO for the very first time. From the results of the Singapore Physics Olympiad (1999), 26 students were selected for training for the APhO (in April 2000) and IPhO (in July 2000). Delegation Leader: Asst.
